A bit about me

About Me
I have taught both AQA and OCR Psychology specifications and have examiner experience for AQA A-level Psychology. This background gives me a detailed understanding of assessment requirements and how students are expected to demonstrate knowledge and skills effectively in exam responses.
My approach to teaching is grounded in clarity, structure and realism. I focus particularly on exam technique, written responses, and helping students understand what questions are really asking. Many students understand the content but struggle to apply it under exam conditions, and this is where my work is most targeted.
Alongside my teaching role, I am a trainee counsellor. This training has ignited my interest in building confidence in my students. I am able to offer structured, time-limited support, particularly where anxiety, self-belief, or uncertainty affects learning. This does not replace teaching but supports a calm, focused approach to academic progress. This is not intended as a replacement counselling service.
I have previous experience working with schools in a range of contexts, including supporting Psychology provision where the subject is taught by non-specialist staff. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and offer online tutoring alongside school-based support where appropriate.
